On December 25 2023 the Jean Monnet Center of Excellence was opened as part of the EUROSOFT Erasmus+ project at the Faculty of International Relations. This project, which brings together representatives of the teaching staff of the Faculty of International Relations, the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science, is an example of an interdisciplinary approach to academic activity and research work.
At the opening ceremony of the Center, the Vice-Rector of L.N. Gumilyov ENU for strategic development D.R. Aitmagambetov, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations M.M. Kossybaev and Dean of the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science K. O. Sakh took part and made a congratulatory speech. The project coordinator, Professor of the Department of International Relations Medeubaeva Zh.M. highlighted the main idea of the EUROSOFT project, which is to promote regionalization in Central Asia with the help of the soft power of the European Union in her speech. Teachers, students, undergraduates of the Faculty of International Relations, Faculty of Journalism and Political Science, participating in the opening, were given detailed information about the upcoming events of the Jean Monnet Center.
The opening ended with a discussion of functional and conceptual issues of project implementation in an informal setting.
