Feedback of Erasmus Plus program participation Dana Buralkiyeva, Faculty of Journalism

I had a great opportunity to be the participant of Erasmus Plus program in amazing country – Romania, Iasi in Alexandr Ioan Cuza University. At the beginning, I felt a bit lost because of my lack in knowledge of Romanian language, but in the first minutes, I met friendly people who helped me to reach my dormitory with pleasure. In this dorm, we lived for the next 5 months with other international students in comfortable conditions and good vibe.

The educational system there based on students’ interest and self-support, so every seminar and lecture consisted of different discussions, facing interesting facts in our field of studying and sharing our own life experience. I especially like that at the end we saved and developed all our gotten knowledge practically in our academic papers and projects. Moreover, we had a great opportunity to study a new language – Romanian language. It differentiates by its fruitiness, based on combination of Latin and Slavic languages. Our language lessons were conducted with games and constant communication; due to them, I met people from different fields of interests and studying, we became good friends with them.

Actually, all Erasmus students are hard-working, bright people with strong life position; they all are interesting, versatile and erudite interlocutors. Communicating to them makes you “master of celebration and contribution”. I am very happy to meet people so close to my soul, with whom we will save our friendship on time and distance. Even now, we plan the next country where we will share our beautiful moments together.

We travelled a lot around Romania, starting from Bucharest with its French style and Parliament Palace, which is in Guinness Book of Records by its size, to Transylvania, directly to Dracula Palace (Bran Castle), stopping in small, but wonderful cities. We were in Telegandolas, gave interviews for National TV and Radio in Piatra-Neamt, woke up with sounds of live-music from the sunny streets in Brashov, enjoyed national dishes in traditional restaurant under the stars in Sibiu, went down to a famous salt mine “Salina Turda”, visited cultural, historical and art museums in Bucharest and Iasi. We enjoyed the Life, smiled at it and Life smiled at us back. I guess, this is the main goal of all students programs: we learn international life, their traditions and culture from inside, we become more independent, resourceful and take responsibility for our life.

Furthermore I started to study Korean language in the same university, in the Students Palace I joined the class of modern dances, participated in The annual charity Ball, protruded in the students international conference in Romanian language, practiced and worked in a local newspaper.

For me, in my 18, this program is a conscious step in astonishing, responsible life, I am very thankful for my Eurasian National University for this chance.  Our students have a lot of capacities, and the point is if you want to use them!
