Political advertising in the election campaign: open lecture

The issue of studying political marketing has become especially relevant in modern period of the development of the political system of Kazakhstan and the reformatting of the state apparatus.

The topic of electoral marketing is important in the context of the implementation of President K.K. Tokayev’s political reforms, which contribute to development of political diversity and the election of governors at the all levels.

The detailed content and directions of this area were revealed by the PhD-student of ENU named after N. L. Gumilyov Bakhyt Yessimova.

During the open lecture, the audience examined the topics of advertising in election campaigns: tasks and functions, got acquainted with the main ideas of the campaign and the ways of its demonstration in political advertising.

“The power and role of political advertising is known from world experience. Definitely it is called upon to provide an understanding of the essence of competing political ideas, platforms and programs in an accessible emotional and semantic form, as well as to motivate voters to support one of them”says the PhD-student.

During the lecture, there was an comparative analysis of political advertising abroad and in Kazakhstan, as well as examples of election campaigns of political parties and technologies used by candidates at different levels.

It is important that the lecture was interactive, during the analysis of the case assignment, the students learned the kinds of propaganda materials and technologies. They took part in the development of the political slogans of the presidential candidate.
