From February 24 to March 19, 2022 PhD-student of the Department of Political Science of the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science Yessimova B.A. completed an internship at the University of Louisville, USA. During the internship, the PhD-student received consultations and exchanged views with the faculty of the host university regarding the topic of the dissertation research. In particular, there were discussed the state policy approaches to the provision of targeted social assistance. Also, one of the key topics of consultations held with the Chair of the Department of Political Science at the University of Louisville, Tricia Gray, was the gender aspect of the state system of social payments.
In addition, the PhD-student gave a guest lecture for the faculty and students of the Department of Political Science. The topic of the informative lecture was the main directions of the social policy of Kazakhstan, and during the meeting, there was an exchange of views on the topic.
In general, according to the doctoral student Yessimova B.A., the scientific internship made it possible to improve the approaches and methodology to the ongoing research on social assistance in Kazakhstan.
