Doctoral students of the Department of Political Science conducted a scientific webinar in the framework of studying the problems of internal migration in the country

Currently, there is a demographic imbalance in the regions of the country. According to statistics, in the northern regions (North Kazakhstan, Pavlodar, Kostanay regions), the population (in total, about 2.2 million people. people), the location density is 6.8 million. in comparison with the southern regions (South Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda, Almaty regions), the population is significantly smaller.

According to forecast data, the population of the northern regions by 2050

A decrease of 900 thousand people, while the population of the southern regions is 5.2 million people. a person can grow.

For example, in 2018-2020, 5,123 people moved to the North Kazakhstan region from the southern regions, while about 10 thousand people moved from the region.

As one of the measures to restore this imbalance, the state program of voluntary resettlement of the population from the southern regions to the northern region "Enbek" was implemented. For those who have moved to the north, there are many conditions, various benefits and material incentives.

The enbek program has been completed by 2021, but migration will continue. Resettlement is now carried out through the project" strong regions – drivers of the country's development".
