On March 27 -28 faculty of journalism and political science held an Open day timed to important events: the annual olympiad in political science and Under the lucky star: we have to live in a new world XIV international media festival of young correspondents from children`s and youth magazines.
Pupils from Astana (14 people), Pavlodar (two people), Kokchetau (six people), Kyzylorda (seven people) and from rural schools of Akmola region (four people), north Kazakhstan (one person) took part in this event.
The students were shown series of videos with an explanation about the Political Science, about the role played by politics in life of each person and the place of political science among the leading specialties of the world.
The best graduates of the Department with high state and public posts in Kazakhstan were presented on slides. Each student and his scientific leader were handed out handouts and booklets about the specialty Political Science.
The head of the department E.Nechaeva professors and teachers came out and interest pupils by the Department`s opportunities like exchange program.
Next day during the events by Zhuldyz children's non-governmental organizations Union, there was XIV international media festival of young correspondent's award. The theme was children's information space: professionalism, creativity, resources of faculty of journalism and political science.
About 100 participants arrived at this event. Among them pupils from Aktau (43 people), Kokshetau (10 people), Esil (4 people), Shchuchinsk (6 people), Temirtau (5 people), Stepnogorsk (5 person), Kostanay (6 people), from Vostochno-Kazakhstan region (6 people), as well as guests from Astana.
The participants of the festival were welcomed by representatives of the Embassy of Cuba, Belarus, the Ukraine, Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights of the ministry of education and science of Kazakhstan, leaders of children's and youth organizations, various state and public organizations.
The faculty dean Kairat Sak revealed the role of a modern journalist in the public life in country and told about the successes achieved by the graduates of the publishing department, the department of television and radio communication and public relations, political science.
In the speech and slides of the responsible secretary of the admission committee of the ENU named after Gumilev, it was told in detail about all the conditions for admission to the ENU and the specifics of exams for journalism and public relations specialties.
After the graduation ceremonyall pupils were given the opportunity to pass master classes from renowned scientists, journalists and public figures, where they had the opportunity to directly ask all their questions and get exhaustive answers from the masters of their case.
The most interesting were master classes on the topics:
· Modern demands for journalists (Sak Kairat Omirbaevich: Dean of the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science of ENU named after LN Gumilev, Candidate of Philology, Professor)
· Journalistic roles in society development (Bolatova Gulzhauhar Zhambylovna : associate dean of the faculty of journalism and political science of ENU, candidate of philology, associate professor)
· Kazakhstan journalism in conditions of digitalization (Esdauletov Aitmukhambet Orazbaevich, candidate of Philology, otsent, head of Printing and Publishing, Faculty of Journalism and Political Science)
· New opportunities for digital media (Beysenkulov Ayazbi Akbergenovich: candidate of philology, associate professor, head of the department of television and radio journalism and public relations, faculty of journalism and political science).
All participants expressed their hope that participants of the olympiad and XIV international media festival would like to get political science, journalist, publishing, public relations at the Eurasian national university.
