On December 7 and 09, 2020, at the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science, lectures were held by invited foreign scientists - the head of the Department of Journalism, Professor of the Rostov State Economic University (Rostov-on-Don) Elena Nikolaevna Klemenova, and associate professor of this (named) department Farakhshina Olga Minirakhmanovna. An online meeting of Russian guests with students and undergraduates of the specialty "Public Relations" at the Department of Teleradio and Public Relations was organized by Doctor of Philosophy, Professor S.Sh. Takhan. An open lecture by Professor Elena NikolaevnaKlemenova was devoted to a topical topic: "Self-presentation of a journalist - ethical aspect." The lecturer emphasized the importance of a journalist's self-presentation in the context of a new competitive media environment for him, where he is no longer a monopolist in the presentation of information. Noting the importance of the external component of the image of a public journalist - image, manner of speech, ability to dress, good external data, the professor especially emphasized the need for a journalist to develop such qualities as the ability to empathy, the ability to win over the audience, the disposition to catch speech registers in the verbal behavior of the audience ... The author's "I" of the journalist is inseparable from the personal attitude to what he expresses, it is very important how he knows how to intimate his style of presenting the information. The lecturer analyzed in sufficient detail all the basic methods and techniques of self-presentation of a journalist, which can effectively contribute to the disclosure of his human hypostasis and creative individuality. The lecture of Associate Professor Farakhshina Olga Minirakhmanovna on the topic "Visual journalism" was also listened to by students and undergraduates with great attention. The lecturer paid main attention to the practical aspects of the graphic design of the newspaper in the context of the digitalization of media. In a sense, the presentation of the material represented the "immersion" of theory in the practical work of creating a newspaper. Everything stated in the lecture material was of direct importance for modern multimedia journalism, from the principle of respect for the consumer of information to convincing demonstration of the unlimited possibilities of modern information processing technologies in creating a news product for different types of media. The head of the Department of Teleradio and public relations Duisengazin S.M., teachers of the department took part in the lectures.
