International scientific-practical conference named after Tauman Amandosov was held in Almaty

On November 26, 2021 in Almaty, Al-Farabi University held a competition in honor of the 100th anniversary of the teacher, scientist, journalist Tauman Amandosov. The conference was held in online and offline formats. The competition took place on nominations of the best design, the best multimedia project, the best Internet project, etc. The winner of the project was awarded with a certificate and money prize. On a nomination the Best Internet Project the 1st place was won by the pupil of 2nd year of Faculty of Journalism and Political Science. And in the nomination Best Media Design (for the creative online magazine Yerekshe) students of the EnglishJournalism-20 group won the 3rd place.

The conference was also addressed by Sauytbek Abdrakhmanov, a member of the Majilis of Kazakhstan's Parliament; Sagymbai Kozybayev, president of the Academy of Journalists of Kazakhstan; Bauyrzhan Zhakip, deputy chairman of the Writers' Union and poet; Kaken Kamzin, professor at KazNU; Nurzhan Mukhamejanova, head of the Almaty TV channel; and many others.

Tauman Amandosov was one of the first domestic scholars who studied the theory and practice of Kazakhstani journalism. He was one of the first in Kazakhstan to receive the title of professor. Amandosov is the author of 11 monographs, such as Publicity - Tone of Epoch, Dostyk Lebizi, Genres of Kazakh Soviet Press, and The Theory and Practice of Soviet Journalism. The scientist is the author of textbooks and manuals, monographs, articles and publications.

The organizers of the event awarded the winners of the "Amandosov Competition", which goal was to support creative young people in the field of journalism and design. Representatives of the talented youth were also presented with sponsored scholarships named after the scientist.

Elubai Guldana, a second-year student of the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science, won the first place in the Best Internet Publication nomination. The third place in the "Best Media Design" nomination was given to the students of the AZ-20 group: Amangeldy Aruzhan, Kairat Malika, Bekmyrza Dana, Akimbekova Dilyara, Elubay Guldana.
