Open Day of the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science at the Department of Political Science on November 9, 2023

November 9, 2023 at 11.00. The Department of Political Science took part in the annual Open Day in the FSN assembly hall. The event, organized by the person responsible for career guidance at the faculty, Zhanar Begaidar and Gulnur Omarkhankyzy, was held at a very high level. The hall was crowded and many applicants had to stand between the rows. M.Yu. Onuchko, E.L. Nechaeva, R.M. Tashtimkhanova took an active part in the event from the Department of Political Science.

After the welcoming speech of the dean, prof. Sak Kairat Omirbayevich, the heads of three departments spoke, each of whom presented training programs and the specifics of each specialty. Thus, the head of the department of political science, Gabdulina Bagysh Akhmetovna, noted that students of our specialty have the opportunity to study in three languages, undergo exchange training abroad in both European and Asian countries, as well as continue their further education in both master’s and doctoral studies majoring in “Political Science” and “Ethnopolitical Science”.

A very varied entertainment program was prepared for the applicants, including intellectual competitions, surprises with gifts, and wonderful dancing. 3rd year student of the specialty “Political Science” Kamil Abdulzaliev performed a wonderful piece on the guitar, causing a wave of delight among the audience.

At the end, upcoming events were announced that will help applicants decide on the choice of their future profession.

All applicants received booklets from the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science. The Department of Political Science also distributed booklets on the specialty “Political Science” in Kazakh, Russian and English languages to schoolchildren from schools No. 6 (3 schoolchildren), 58 (1 schoolchildren), 59 (2 schoolchildren), 60 (3 schoolchildren), 71 (3 schoolchildren ), 87 (5 schoolchildren) and 103 (2 schoolchildren), who choose “World History”. Contact was established with school teachers and telephone numbers were exchanged for further meetings with applicants.
