second-year doctoral students of the "political science" track held an open seminar

On March 31, 2023, second-year doctoral students of the "political science" track held an open seminar on topical issues of modern education. Thus, doctoral student Nakhbayeva Guliskhan raised the issue of academic mobility in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and in particular, the attractiveness forforeign applicants. The information provided shows a steady trend towards the internationalization of education in Kazakhstan. Significant potential, according to Guliskhan, is the Eurasian space, and in particular the countries of the near abroad. As a result, a positive forecast is made for further cooperation between Kazakhstan and other countries on the issue of education in the leading universities of the country.

The seminar also raised the issue of modern methods of political science research. Ternov Nikolai, doctoral student, gave a brief excursion into the use of the Python programming language and content analysis using natural language processing (NLP). A feature of this approach is the appeal to the neural network, which more accurately evaluates the context, and also helps the researcher in the analysis and interpretation of the data. The presentation showed that classical content analysis using roots/tokens is already outdated, while the use of a bidirectional neural network opens up great prospects for researchers.
