Social journalism is one of the most important areas of journalism. Journalists face a great challenge. The media should not present information one-sidedly; it is necessary to be thorough. There are a lot of topics and problems to be considered in the social sphere.

Recently, there was a master class for third-year students of journalism specialties, organised by Gulzhaukhar Zhambylovna Bolatova, our favourite teacher and Deputy Dean of the Journalism and Political Science Department of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. Amangeldi Kurmet, editor-in-chief of "Aikyn" newspaper, was a guest of the master class. The round table, which lasted almost 2 hours, was held in a Q&A format. In general, the meeting was organised according to the curriculum with the purpose of analysing and discussing the field of social journalism as widely as possible.

In turn, an experienced journalist, Amangeldi Kurmetuly, shared his experience and paid special attention to statistics. According to the expert, there is no middle class in the modern world. Everyone's social status is divided into two parts. rich and poor. And in reality, sometimes the situation does not correspond to the numbers shown in the statistics.

The role of social journalism in societal life is enormous. At the moment, there are especially developing branches of journalism. But, whichever direction we choose, it is very important to be a qualified and competent specialist.
