A young scientist from ENU visited Japan

The 19 th Annual Meeting of the Science and Technology in Society forum took place from October 2 to 4, 2022 in Kyoto, with the participation of global leaders in science and technology, policymaking, business, and media from over 80 countries, regions, and international organizations. The STS forum, established in 2004, aims to provide a platform for world leaders in the fields of academia and industries to gather and discuss about how to deal with science and technology issues for the future of the humankind. At the 19th Annual Meeting forum welcomed over 1,400 world leaders from 125 countries, regions and international organizations, including 9 Nobel Laureates, 33 Ministers, 41 University Presidents and top executives of multinational enterprises. Kazakhstan was represented by our senior lecturer, PhD of Printing and Publishing Department Akniyet Zhanysbayeva. 

On October 1 participants had opportunity to exchange views with Nobel Laureates and discuss how they can contribute to improving the world through science and technology.

There were sessions on Energy, Climate Change, Earth and Commons, Life Sciences, Innovative Engineering, Cooperation in S&T, S&T Education, and Digital Society where were not only lectures by expert speakers, but also performed practical tasks, which was a very exciting part. In general, the forum was held at a very high level.
